The April meeting of LAARK was different. Our presenter, Patrick Ware, was detained by circumstances beyond his control and could not attend the meeting. Eleven members and two visitors attended with the two visitors joining the Klub after the meeting.  We know the location for our Field Day.  We still have to clear the way for all night operation with the city and find a portable generator.  We had a great discussion about the new venues that Ham Radio operators are having to know and learn about to become qualified emergency responders in most Metroplex areas.  Refreshments were served afterward, and the conversations were still going on after the cookies were gone. The presentation for the May meeting will be done by Dale Finley, KB5NFT, on RF Packet using Outpost Manager.  He will demonstrate what can be done with Packet using the Outpost software.  He will include details on how to get started, make cables, what TNC to use, how to setup the TNC, Radio, and software. This will be very interesting!!

Come to our next meeting and become involved in things that will help us grow as Lake area amateur radio operators.
